Overview In this role you will build and expand a book of business within a collaborative, hybrid Denver office. You will serve as the primary contact for agencies, shaping marketing plans and guiding complex renewals and new business through rate, quote, and bind decisions. You will develop underwriting referrals and monitor performance metrics to drive growth and retention. You will also lead and develop junior underwriters, contributing to a high-performance underwriting team aligned with Burns & Wilcox's market leadership.

Responsibilities- Build, maintain, and grow a book of business
- Manage agency relationships and serve as lead client contact
- Create and execute marketing plan to increase new and renewal business
- Rate, quote and bind each risk for large/complex renewals and new business
- Develop and submit underwriting referrals to company facilities and Burns & Wilcox management
- Monitor key metrics to drive new business, retention, premium growth, and loss ratio
- Lead, train, and develop Assistant and Associate Underwriters
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience
- Excess & surplus experience preferred
- Proven proficiency in sales and marketing
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Interest in continued education and professional development
- Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred
