Overview As a Research Scientist, you will drive impactful research at scale to influence Google products and the broader AI community. You will publish and share findings, helping to grow the research business across teams by transferring trends and best practices. You will develop novel ML and LLM techniques, including post-training and fine-tuning for large-scale applications in Google Ads. You will collaborate with researchers across Google and DeepMind, deploying ideas and contributing to open research. This role combines rigorous experimentation with practical product impact, shaping next-generation AI capabilities.

Responsibilities- author and publish research findings for conferences, journals, or repositories
- grow research collaboration across teams by sharing trends and best practices
- develop novel ML and large language model techniques
- post-train and finetune LLMs for retrieval, pseudo-rater and ads applications
- collaborate with researchers across Google and DeepMind
- setup large-scale tests, prototype implementations, and deploy promising ideas
- design and evaluate new architectures and approaches
- contribute to the wider research community through publications and collaborations
Key requirements- PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience
- experience with modern LLM post-training (supervised fine-tuning, RLHF) or core generative model development in industry AI labs or frontier AI organizations
