Overview In this role you will underwrite and renew business for the Specialty Human Services division, supporting the Northeast territory through remote work. You will analyze risk data, collaborate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients, and ensure compliant, well-documented underwriting decisions. You'll stay current with industry trends and build strong relationships to grow profitable business. Responsibilities- Underwrite new and renewal business per guidelines and risk appetite
- Analyze risk data to determine coverage, pricing, and terms
- Collaborate with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information and clarity
- Order and review reports (motor vehicle, loss history, outside inspections) to inform decisions
- Document underwriting decisions and ensure regulatory compliance
- Evaluate renewals or modifications of existing policies
- Communicate underwriting decisions clearly to internal teams and partners
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal/external customers to generate and retain business
- Interpret, explain, and market products and services
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of underwriting or related experience
- Professional designation (AU, CPCU, CIC, INS, ARM) preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
