Overview

As Technical Training Manager, you lead a new Full-Time Training Team for AWS Data Center Operations, shaping initial training, maintaining labs, and driving continuous program improvements. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to standardize training, measure impact, and leverage AI and agile methods to boost effectiveness. This role places you at the center of a mission to deliver world-class training at scale while supporting a safe, cost-efficient cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of technical trainers
  • Manage training programs for DCEO, DCO, ID, Decommissioning, and Logistics
  • Implement standardized training processes tailored to audiences
  • Create and track performance metrics for training effectiveness
  • Establish communication channels between the Full Time Training Team and stakeholders
  • Drive innovation through AI technology and agile methodologies
  • Support design of learning materials including exercises, tutorials, and assessments
  • Measure and report training program impact
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time
Key requirements
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience (including managing managers or senior individual contributors)
  • 5+ years of leading training, technical instruction, or maintenance operations programs at regional or multi-site level
  • 5+ years of safety standards experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon RME BB/3P Full Time Exempt experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules (nights, weekends, holidays)
  • Experience in project, program, or product management with focus on technical education programs
