What You ll Do
- Provide obstetrics and gynecology clinic coverage.
- Participate in rotating call coverage with existing providers.
- Evaluate and manage patients during scheduled clinic shifts.
- Respond to urgent clinical matters while on call.
- Provide obstetric care, including support for deliveries.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, and other members of the care team.
- Document patient care using Meditech in the hospital and Athena in the clinics.
What You Need
Required - Active Iowa medical license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC).
- DEA status.
- Ability to provide clinic and rotating call coverage.
- Availability for -day working stretches.
Preferred - Experience in obstetrics and gynecology.
- Experience providing both clinic and hospital call coverage.
About the Assignment
This locum opportunity supports a leading facility in Ottumwa, Iowa, with clinic and call coverage needs. The clinic team includes one permanent provider, three nurse practitioners, and nursing support, with an average daily volume of approximately patients. The hospital manages approximately deliveries per month. Patients requiring NICU-level care are transferred to Iowa City or Des Moines.
