- Safety Training & Education: Lead and facilitate project-specific safety orientations, Toolbox Talks, and mandatory educational programs using your background as an OSHA 500 outreach trainer.
- On-Site Inspections & Auditing: Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of the project site to evaluate machines, tools, equipment, and worker activities.
- Hazard Mitigation: Assist with pre-job planning and proactively correct or abate safety hazards, unsafe acts, and safety violations before they lead to incidents.
- Policy Execution: Enforce project safety plans, Barton Malow Safety Manual policies, and federal OSHA construction regulations.
- Incident Investigation: Document all accidents, safety violations, or unsafe conditions. Lead incident investigations, generate compliance reports, and participate in formal reviews with senior safety leadership and executives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface directly with subcontractors, labor unions, clients, and project management teams to address and resolve complex safety concerns.
- Certifications:
- Active OSHA 500 certification (Trainer Course for the Construction Industry) is mandatory.
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.
- OSHA 30 Hour certification.
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) credential is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of dedicated Construction Safety experience. Specialized experience working in heavy environments like Industrial, Automotive, Renewable Energy, or Data Centers is highly valued.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a closely related field is preferred.
- Job Flexibility: The role requires shift flexibility, including occasional weekend and evening work depending on the project schedule.
