About the Role
We're seeking an experienced, hands-on EHS Supervisor to lead day-to-day safety efforts at a precast concrete manufacturing facility. This person will work directly with employees, supervisors, contractors, and plant leadership to identify hazards, address safety concerns, and strengthen safe work practices across the production floor, yard, and maintenance areas. The schedule may occasionally extend beyond 40 hours per week to meet operational needs. Candidates should be comfortable with that flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular walk-throughs, inspections, and hazard assessments throughout the plant and yard.
- Identify unsafe conditions and practices, communicate concerns, and follow through to confirm corrective actions are completed.
- Coach employees and supervisors on PPE, machine guarding, housekeeping, material storage, pedestrian safety, equipment use, and lifting practices.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and other employee training.
- Develop and review JSAs/JHAs, safe work procedures, and site safety policies.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, document findings, and track corrective actions.
- Support OSHA compliance, safety audits, recordkeeping, and required reporting.
- Coordinate safety requirements for contractors and visitors.
- Partner with operations and maintenance teams to address safety risks and support continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Direct, hands-on experience in an EHS or Safety Supervisor role is required.
- Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similar hands-on work environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and practical workplace safety programs.
- Demonstrated experience conducting inspections, leading training, investigating incidents, and following corrective actions through completion.
- Confident communication and coaching skills with employees at all levels.
- Ability to work onsite in Tampa and adjust hours when operational needs require occasional work beyond 40 hours per week.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, or related safety credentials preferred.
Work Environment
This is an active precast manufacturing environment that includes production areas, equipment, maintenance work, and outdoor yard operations. The EHS Supervisor must be comfortable spending significant time on the floor and in the yard.
