Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Spray Painter for an immediate, full-time, direct-hire opportunity in a metal fabrication and industrial manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial spray painting, metal surface preparation, protective coatings, and steel fabrication painting. This position involves working independently in an in-house industrial paint booth, preparing and painting large fabricated steel components and industrial equipment.

Projects include overhead bridge cranes, industrial carts, steel tables, structural steel assemblies, and custom metal fabrications.

Qualified candidates must have experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes, following industrial painting procedures, and delivering consistent, high-quality finishes with minimal supervision.

This is a permanent, direct-hire position offering long-term employment opportunities. Candidates with additional experience in metal fabrication, press brake operation, band saw operation, and general manufacturing are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial spray painting on fabricated steel components, structural steel assemblies, and industrial machinery.
• Prepare metal surfaces using surface preparation, cleaning, sanding, grinding, degreasing, and masking techniques.
• Apply industrial paints, protective coatings, and corrosion-resistant finishes to fabricated metal products according to established procedures.
• Operate industrial spray guns, spray painting equipment, and industrial paint booths to achieve consistent coating coverage.
• Paint large fabricated steel products, including overhead bridge cranes, industrial carts, steel tables, and structural steel components.
• Inspect finished products for paint adhesion, coating thickness, surface finish, uniformity, and overall quality.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move, position, and handle heavy fabricated steel components.
• Set up, clean, inspect, and maintain industrial painting equipment, spray guns, and paint booth work areas.
• Follow established industrial safety procedures, proper paint handling practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Identify and correct common painting defects, including uneven coverage, runs, overspray, and surface imperfections.
• Complete assigned industrial painting projects independently while meeting production schedules and quality standards.
• Assist with other metal fabrication and manufacturing operations, including press brake operation, band saw operation, material handling, and general shop support, as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on industrial spray painting experience in a manufacturing, steel fabrication, heavy equipment, or industrial environment.
• Experience with metal surface preparation and painting fabricated steel components.
• Ability to operate industrial spray guns, painting equipment, and spray paint booths.
• Experience applying industrial coatings and protective finishes to metal surfaces.
• Previous forklift operation experience required.
• Previous overhead crane operation experience required.
• Ability to work independently and produce high-quality painted finishes with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of industrial painting procedures, paint preparation, and coating application techniques.
• Experience working around large, heavy industrial components and fabricated steel assemblies.
• Strong attention to detail, quality control, workplace safety, and equipment operation.
• Ability to follow production instructions, maintain a clean work environment, and meet assigned deadlines.
• Availability to begin employment immediately or within a short timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience painting overhead cranes, structural steel, industrial machinery, heavy equipment, or custom metal fabrications.
• Familiarity with HVLP spray guns, conventional spray systems, or airless spray equipment.
• Knowledge of primer application, rust prevention, corrosion-resistant coatings, and industrial paint finishing.
• Experience with press brakes, band saws, grinding equipment, or metal fabrication machinery.
• Experience working in a steel fabrication shop, industrial equipment manufacturer, or production manufacturing facility.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with additional shop operations when needed.
