Nocturnist - Coastal Virginia
- Multi-specialty, independent medical group seeks BC/BE Internists & Family Practitioners to join their team
- Average hospitalist earns 300-350k and nocturnists earn on average 400-425k - compensation is tied to schedule and productivity
- Flexible schedule provided - option for 7 on/7 off if desired
- Full-time is 16-18 shifts per month
- Three opportunities available - opportunities in metropolitan, suburban, and rural communities
- Average of 16-18 patients per shift
- Hospitals vary with open and closed ICU:
- Hospital 1: Open ICU, Secondary code coverage
- Hospital 2: Closed ICU, Secondary code coverage
- Hospital 3: Open ICU, Primary code coverage
- Physicians start their day with a rounding list and are asked to be in the hospital by 8:30am. Once rounds are complete, they are free to leave. Different locations have different times that you cover the pager. Typically, pages roll to admit at 1700. There are about 4 admit shifts a month. Admits are from 7-7. If you do not have primary code coverage, you do not have to stay in-house.
