Job Description Job Description

Dental Office Manager

Dental Care of Riverside - We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Dental Office Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our dental practice. This role is ideal for someone who understands both the business and patient-care sides of dentistry and is confident leading a team, presenting treatment, and helping patients move forward with recommended care.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of dental office management experience, is highly proficient in Open Dental, and has hands-on experience with treatment coordination, billing, insurance, and treatment plan presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily front-office operations and ensure the practice runs efficiently
  • Lead, support, and hold the administrative team accountable to established workflows and goals
  • Confidently present treatment plans and help patients understand the value and importance of recommended care
  • Discuss treatment costs, insurance benefits, financing, and payment options with patients
  • Follow up on unscheduled and outstanding treatment to improve case acceptance
  • Coordinate complex and high-value treatment cases from presentation through scheduling
  • Manage patient scheduling and help maintain a productive provider and hygiene schedule
  • Oversee dental billing, insurance claims, accounts receivable, and patient balances
  • Monitor outstanding claims and ensure timely follow-up and resolution
  • Review practice performance, including production, collections, case acceptance, and scheduling opportunities
  • Resolve patient concerns professionally and maintain a high standard of patient experience
  • Maintain accurate patient and financial information within Open Dental
  • Work closely with doctors and leadership to identify opportunities for practice growth and operational improvement

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of dental office management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Open Dental
  • Proven experience with treatment coordination and treatment plan presentation
  • Ability to confidently discuss and close treatment plans
  • Dental billing and insurance experience
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and scheduling
  • Experience managing patient accounts, claims, and financial arrangements
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced dental environment

What We're Looking For

We are looking for more than someone who can simply manage a schedule. We need a strong dental leader who understands how the entire practice works - from the patient experience and team operations to treatment acceptance, billing, collections, and practice growth.

You should be comfortable having financial conversations with patients, following up on treatment opportunities, solving operational problems, and creating accountability within the team.

If you have a strong dental background, know Open Dental, and have a track record of successfully coordinating and presenting treatment, we would love to hear from you.
