Talascend is currently seeking an Electromechanical Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Deltona, Florida.
Overview
Support the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging and distribution equipment, and pneumatic systems. This role also provides opportunities to mentor junior technicians.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
- Complete preventive maintenance routines and maintain proper documentation.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to material handling equipment, including belts, motors, photo-eyes, and relays.
- Maintain positive working relationships across the operations facility.
- Track and store department inventory.
- Travel up to 20% or more as needed.
- Move materials weighing up to 49 pounds and stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Perform repetitive bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, twisting, sitting, standing, and walking.
- Lift parts and tools weighing an average of 20 pounds and occasionally up to 49 pounds.
- Use eye-hand coordination, foot pedals, and manual dexterity for picking, pinching, holding, grasping, and repetitive wrist movements.
- Work in small spaces and environments that may include dust, fumes, odors, hot or cold temperatures, indoor or outdoor noise, vibration, concrete floors, and wet or uneven surfaces.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience using personal computers and office productivity applications.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, shifts, and areas, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college, with a focus in mechanical or electrical studies.
- At least two years of experience with automated conveyor systems and controls.
- At least two years of experience repairing material handling equipment.
- At least two years of experience conducting predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.
- At least one year of experience with metal and wood fabrication.
- At least one year of experience reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
- At least one year of knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
- Experience with material handling equipment safety standards.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experience operating and maintaining robotic or electromechanical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions.
Shift
This role requires flexibility to work weekends, nights, holidays, and shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
