• Start: January 1, 2027
• End: January 1, 2028
• Commitment: One full week per month
• Setting: Inpatient NICU
• Focus: Daytime rounding on lower-acuity NICU patients
• Typical census: Approximately 35 patients
• EMR: Epic
• Cardiovascular surgery cases are referred elsewhere for intervention
Schedule
• Monday ÄìSunday during the scheduled coverage week
• Hours: 8 a.m. Äì4 p.m.
• Eight-hour daytime shifts
• No night or call responsibilities
Recent Procedure RequirementsCandidates must document the following procedures completed within the past 24 months:
• Five lumbar punctures
• Five arterial-line procedures
• Five central-line procedures
• Five chest-tube procedures
• Five airway management/intubation procedures
Support
• Six advanced practice providers
• No APP, resident or teaching supervision required
Requirements
• Board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
• Active Texas APRN/NP license
• Active DEA registration
• Active BLS, PALS and NRP certifications
• Current CV and procedure documentation required
Credentialing
• Estimated timeframe: Approximately 90 days
