CNC Turning Machinist (Tier II) Location: Whippany, NJ Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Pay Rate: $36.38 per hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:30 PM-12:00 AM Overtime: Available Job Description Synerfac Technical Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Turning Machinist for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturer in Whippany, NJ. The successful candidate will set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components for electromechanical actuation systems, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and dimensional requirements. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathes using blueprints, setup sheets, tooling instructions, and manufacturing procedures. Install fixtures, position stock, assemble cutting tools, and make adjustments to ensure parts meet specifications. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments and verify dimensions against engineering drawings. Read and interpret complex blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Write and modify basic G-code and troubleshoot machining, tooling, fixture, and programming issues. Perform machine setup calculations and preventative maintenance on equipment and tools. Work with engineering personnel to develop and improve manufacturing processes. Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures. Preferred Qualifications Vocational training or relevant machining certification. Knowledge of grinding practices and surface finish requirements. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Ability to follow manufacturing procedures and maintain quality standards. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods and transport materials between work areas. Ability to work indoors in a manufacturing environment and wear required protective equipment. Compensation and Benefits The starting pay rate for this position is $36.38 per hour, with overtime opportunities available. Requirements CNC Machining Experience: At least 5 years of experience setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components with tight tolerances, including 0.001 inches. Blueprints and GD&T: Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including ASME Y14.5 standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Technical Skills: Experience using precision measuring instruments, performing machine setups, and making machining adjustments; ability to write basic G-code and troubleshoot equipment or tooling issues.
