Case Mix: Gastroenterology inpatient consults, ED consults, and transfers

Support Staff Available: 1 PA/NP (MondayFriday)

REQUIRED PROCEDURES Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy and foreign body removal
Control of GI bleeding and variceal injections
ERCP (diagnostic and therapeutic preferred)
PEG placement
Esophageal dilation and manometry
Colonoscopy with biopsy and polyp excision
Sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
Liver biopsy
JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active TX license
Board: Board Certified in Gastroenterology
Certifications: ACLS
Other Qualifications: Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide inpatient gastroenterology call coverage
Manage ED consults and patient transfers
Perform advanced GI procedures including endoscopy and ERCP
Handle admissions related to GI cases
Respond within required call response time
