Job description:
- Lead and supervise daily excavation and heavy civil construction operations, including union and non-union crews.
- Plan and coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet construction schedules and project milestones.
- Oversee excavation activities for highways, runways, site development, and infrastructure projects.
- Direct excavation foremen, equipment operators, and laborers to maintain productivity and workmanship standards.
- Monitor construction progress, identify potential delays, and resolve field operational challenges.
- Coordinate daily with Project Managers regarding schedules, resources, project costs, and construction progress.
- Inspect ongoing construction work to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, labor hours, production quantities, trucking logs, and material records.
- Coordinate JULIE utility locate requests and renewals.
- Manage scheduling conflicts and adjust field operations to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in heavy highway excavation (minimum), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Hands-on experience supervising excavation crews.
- Experience coordinating heavy equipment and subcontractors.
- Experience scheduling labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Proven ability to complete construction projects on time and within budget.
