We are seeking a BC or BE General Surgeon to join a hospital-employed practice in a nonprofit, mission-driven system anchored by a 60-bed hospital. The role combines outpatient clinic, endoscopy, elective surgery, urgent consults, and call. Growth and succession create the opening, and leadership wants a surgeon who keeps appropriate cases local.
Why Join Us?- Strong base with productivity upside: $510,000 to $560,000 base, a first-year guarantee, and wRVU production.
- Call included, extra days paid: 15 call days per month are in your base. Each additional call day pays $1,500.
- Scopes are half the practice: No GI and no ERCP in the community, so endoscopy volume stays with you. Surgical work from the area stays at this hospital.
- Room to grow: The current full-time surgeon produces about 5,000 work RVUs, and OR capacity is available.
- Start-up support: $35,000 sign-on and $15,000 relocation.
Role Highlights- Bread-and-butter surgery: gallbladders, hernias, appendectomies, bowel and soft tissue, and selected resections
- Colonoscopy and EGD, about half of the practice
- Dialysis access support, including tunneled catheters and limited vascular procedures
- Foregut and reconstruction experience welcome, ERCP optional
- Most surgical inpatients are admitted under the hospitalist service, so you consult, operate, and sign off
Typical Week- Start with four clinic days and one surgery day, growing to three clinic days and two surgery days as volume builds
- Clinic Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, about 15 to 20 patients per day
Facility and Support- Three ORs, including a large room for joints and bigger cases
- A 24/7 OR call team, a scheduler, and a physician sleep room for call
- Cerner EMR, Olympus scopes, and Zimmer and Stryker equipment
- A dedicated office, a medical assistant when staffing allows, and free physician parking
Compensation & Benefits Snapshot- Base salary: $510,000 to $560,000 plus wRVU production
- Sign-on and relocation: $50,000 sign-on and relocation
- Call: 15 days per month included, $1,500 for each additional day
- Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision from the first of the month after hire; employer-paid short- and long-term disability; 403(b) retirement plan; about 5 to 5.5 weeks of PTO and holidays, plus New Mexico sick leave

- Outdoors at your doorstep: Red Rock Park's sandstone cliffs, 30+ miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, climbing, elk hunting, and lake fishing
