Overview In this role, you handle complex civil litigation with a focus on construction-related matters and personal injury. You will manage cases from intake to resolution, working with experts and clients to achieve favorable outcomes. You will prepare for and participate in depositions, trials, and settlement discussions, providing clear legal advice and updates. Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Manage a full docket of civil matters from intake through disposition, including trial and post-trial work
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and settlement documents in line with local/state rules
- Prepare for and conduct depositions, coordinate experts, and handle trial preparation and advocacy
- Develop case strategy and provide practical client guidance and updates
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation/arbitration as appropriate
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys, associates, and paralegals; delegate tasks and review work
- Collaborate with external experts (engineers, medical professionals, cost estimators) on construction defect and personal injury cases
- Ensure adherence to deadlines, rules, docket management, and firm policies
- Assist business development by supporting client retention, preparing pitches, and contributing to outreach and networking
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Bar admission in good standing
- 4+ years of civil litigation experience, with emphasis on construction defect and personal injury preferred
- Proven trial experience or substantial courtroom exposure including depositions and motion practice
- Knowledge of construction law, contracts, and related technical issues; familiarity with codes a plus
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong project and caseload management with attention to detail and deadlines
- Experience with expert witnesses, engineers, medical experts, and forensic consultants
- Proficiency with case management and e-discovery tools, Microsoft Office, Westlaw or Lexis
- Excellent client-facing skills and ability to explain complex legal issues clearly
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to courts, job sites, and meetings
