Job Summary
IH Engineers, P.C. is seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to lead bridge inspection activities, prepare inspection and load rating reports, and ensure project quality and compliance with applicable NJDOT and County requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
PE license in New Jersey or New York preferred, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Current NHI certifications: 130055, 130053, 130078, and 130092 required.
Prior experience with NBIS bridge inspections and load ratings in the tri-state area.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
Experience with load rating software such as LARS, AASHTOWARE, and BXLRFD.
Familiarity with STAAD and CANDE is beneficial.
Ability to collaborate with and support junior engineers.
Knowledge of relevant bridge inspection and load rating manuals, including the AASHTO Bridge Inspection Reference Manual, Manual for Bridge Evaluation, NJDOT Bridge Design Manual, and FHWA SNBI Specification.
Experience Required
Minimum of 10 years of experience in NBIS bridge inspection and load ratings.
Key Responsibilities
Lead bridge inspection teams and coordinate inspection activities.
Prepare bridge inspection and load rating reports.
Implement QA/QC processes to maintain project quality.
Review field data, design documents, project evaluation reports, and work programs.
Prioritize and optimize work programs.
Ensure specifications and project deliverables comply with NJDOT and County requirements.
Salary and Benefits
Projected annual salary: $115,000 $140,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
