Overview In this role you oversee the financial performance of large-scale construction projects, ensuring accurate cost records and timely financial insight. You work with project and finance teams to support decision-making throughout the project lifecycle and help manage budgets, variances, and reporting. The position emphasizes collaboration, attention to detail, and proactive risk identification in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to project close, cash flow planning, and audit readiness, enabling sustainable project delivery from setup to close. Responsibilities- Oversee accounting activities for major capital construction projects from setup to final close
- Monitor budgets, committed costs, incurred expenses, and forecast updates; investigate variances
- Prepare recurring project financial reports and cost summaries for stakeholders
- Evaluate spending classifications to align with capital vs operating costs
- Review invoices from contractors and suppliers for accuracy and timely processing
- Support billing administration for progress-, milestone-, and cost-reimbursable invoicing
- Maintain WIP balances, retainage schedules, accruals, and other project accounting records
- Assist with cash flow planning and funding needs across active projects
- Partner with Project Managers to highlight financial risks and support audit requests with documentation
Key requirements- extensive senior-level experience in construction project accounting
