Senior Superintendent

In this role you will lead on-site execution for complex projects, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while maintaining strong relationships with clients and design partners. You will shape field operations, coordinate trade partners, and drive timely project turnover from startup to closeout. You'll work within Suffolk Field Operations to deliver projects that meet client expectations and company standards. This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our project delivery, offering impact at scale and a clear path to influence project outcomes.

• Oversee daily on-site activities and enforce OSHA safety compliance
• Direct field personnel according to project plan and Suffolk supervision principles
• Communicate progress, issues, and performance daily to the Project Manager
• Identify and escalate problems to enable cost-effective solutions
• Build productive relationships with clients, Suffolk teams, subcontractors, and authorities
• On union projects, maintain relationships with trade union agents and managers
• Seek guidance from the General Superintendent or Project Executive on materials, sequencing, scheduling, logistics, and personnel
• Lead project Start-Up/Turnover activities with Project Executive, General Superintendent, and Project Manager
• Assist in formulating and implementing construction schedules; establish and maintain the Project Baseline Schedule
• Provide monthly schedule updates and six-week look-ahead reports
• Lead Pull Planning and 6-week Make Ready Plan meetings
• Ensure subcontractors participate in pre-construction safety meetings and carry site safety plans
• Verify MSDs, safety plans, and insurance documentation for subcontractors
• Establish and manage the quality benchmarks and inspections per the baseline schedule
• Manage site pre-construction, mobilization, and job-site utilization plans
• Coordinate documentation, logistics, and records for easy review
• Manage subcontractor performance against quality and ethical standards
• Attend and chair safety, coordination, schedule, and owner meetings; closeout meetings as needed
• Maintain office checklists, daily reports, and project logs; ensure current as-built drawings and revision logs
• Oversee subcontractor closeout, utility transfers, and owner training
• Participate in training and contribute as a Subject Matter Expert
• Contribute to project turnover, mobilization, and coordination activities

• Bachelor's degree in applicable discipline
• 8 to 12 years of experience in construction fields
• Applicable area licenses
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Ability to partner with the Project Manager and staff
• Effective communication skills

• Strong problem-solving and decisiveness
