• Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week; standard emergency department shifts with day, evening, and overnight coverage
• Shift Duration: 10-hour shifts at the main emergency department; 12-hour shifts may be scheduled at the freestanding emergency department
• Shift Options: Main ED: 7 a.m.-5 p.m., 11 a.m.-9 p.m., 5 p.m.-3 a.m., and 9 p.m.-7 a.m.; FSED: 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and 7 p.m.-7 a.m.
• Call: No call; emergency department shifts only
• Clinical Environment: Approximately 30 ED treatment spaces at the main department, with an average daily census of 115 patients at the main ED and 70 patients at the FSED
• Trauma Level: Level III trauma center with moderate-to-high acuity and complex pathology

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree
• At least 1 year of emergency medicine experience
• ABEM certification required
• Active Texas physician license or eligibility for appropriate Texas licensure
• Current case logs for credentialing
• Proficiency with common emergency medicine procedures, including intubation, central line placement, chest tube placement, conscious sedation, fracture reduction, and laceration repair
• Ability to provide care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a broad range of emergency conditions
• Provide care for moderate-to-high-acuity patients, including complex pathology and trauma-related presentations
• Perform all typical emergency department procedures within the physician's scope of practice
• Manage airway emergencies, critical illness, injuries, and acute medical conditions
• Collaborate with nurses, technicians, paramedics, security personnel, hospitalists, intensivists, OB providers, and available specialty consultants
• Work within a physician-led emergency department team supported by approximately four physicians per day at the main ED and two physicians at the FSED, along with advanced practice providers
• Participate in required orientation, including up to two full shadow shifts or one shadow shift for physicians with prior applicable experience
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required case logs for credentialing
