About the Opportunity

We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technicians to join a rapidly growing, technology-driven specialty pharmacy organization focused on improving patient access to fertility medications.

This organization works closely with fertility clinics, patients, and insurance providers to coordinate the prior authorization process, helping patients receive timely approvals for medications needed during fertility treatment.

Unlike traditional retail pharmacy positions, this is an office-based role focused on insurance authorizations, patient communication, and coordination with healthcare providers. It is an excellent opportunity for Pharmacy Technicians looking to expand their skills, work in a professional healthcare environment, and build a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review prescription requests to determine prior authorization requirements.
  • Initiate, submit, and track prior authorization requests with insurance providers.
  • Communicate with patients, fertility clinics, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to obtain necessary information and resolve authorization issues.
  • Manage multiple authorization requests while responding to incoming phone calls, clinic chats, and electronic messages.
  • Follow up on pending authorizations to help prevent delays in patient care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and update patient information within pharmacy systems.
  • Prioritize competing tasks while meeting productivity, accuracy, and turnaround-time expectations.
  • Provide professional, compassionate support to patients navigating the fertility treatment process.
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to resolve issues and improve workflows.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician license in good standing (trainee registrations do not qualify).
  • Pharmacy technician experience in retail, specialty, mail-order, hospital, or other pharmacy-related environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient information and insurance documentation.
  • Comfortable working with computers, navigating multiple software systems, and learning new technology.
  • Ability to work independently, solve problems, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work onsite in Irving, TX, Monday through Friday.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior authorization, insurance verification, pharmacy intake, or specialty pharmacy experience.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy insurance processes, prescription workflows, and medical terminology.
  • Experience communicating with patients, healthcare providers, or insurance companies.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification is a plus.

Prior authorization experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with a strong pharmacy background, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role?

We are looking for individuals who bring more than just technical pharmacy knowledge. Successful team members are:

  • Organized and efficient: Able to manage multiple requests, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicators: Comfortable interacting with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance representatives.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused: Understand the importance of providing support to patients navigating potentially stressful healthcare situations.
  • Proactive problem-solvers: Take initiative, ask thoughtful questions, and work through challenges to find solutions.
  • Adaptable team players: Willing to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a positive and productive workplace.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $21.00-$24.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Full-time, direct-hire employment
  • Monday-Friday daytime schedule with no weekends
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off
  • Comprehensive training and ongoing support
  • Opportunities for professional development and advancement
  • Stable, office-based work environment within a growing healthcare organization
