Overview As an attorney in our Legal Department, you will help drive operations and growth through strategic contract negotiation, legal counsel, and risk management in a construction-focused environment. You will partner with project teams to ensure compliant, favorable contracts and resolve issues across the project lifecycle. This onsite role offers impact across multiple offices and projects, shaping how we manage risk and deliver value. You will work closely with internal partners and external counsel to support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Review, draft, and negotiate owner contracts, subcontracts, design agreements, and purchase orders
- Provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle-from RFP responses and preconstruction to post-construction warranty and claims
- Advise project teams on legal matters including change orders, claims, notices, and contract administration
- Collaborate with internal departments and external counsel to resolve legal issues and support business objectives
- Conduct legal research and prepare opinions and correspondence
- Participate in regulatory compliance efforts and risk mitigation strategies
Key requirements- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5-7 years of experience in construction law and contract negotiation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new legal tech tools
