Overview In this role you lead natural gas utility operations for Kingman and Lake Havasu, overseeing transmission and distribution activities and ensuring safety, compliance, and reliable service. You will manage budgets, coordinate with regulators and communities, and supervise a mix of direct and contract staff. The position offers impact through capital and O&M execution while supporting growth and customer satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold safety, regulatory, and company standards.
Responsibilities- Implement and oversee operating and maintenance goals from upper management to meet local financial targets
- Direct budget activities for annual Capital and O&M planning and monitor variances
- Manage safety programs and ensure compliance with federal and state codes (DOT Part 192, 199)
- Supervise personnel, including union-related compliance, performance reviews, and discipline
- Coordinate with regulators, government officials, contractors, and vendors; serve as liaison to communities
- Respond to emergencies and coordinate with outside agencies; ensure licenses and franchises are obtained or renewed
- On-call supervisor rotation and potential service to affiliates
- Ensure adherence to company management principles and affirmative action policies
Key requirements- 5-8 years of experience in the natural gas industry
- 3+ years of supervisory experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Working knowledge of natural gas construction and maintenance in transmission/distribution
- Knowledge of HR, union contracts, budgeting, and accounting
- Leadership skills for safety-sensitive operations and emergency response
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and proprietary systems (ECIS, Oracle, GIS)
- DOT regulations Part 199 and 192 knowledge
- Valid AZ driver's license and DOT/RSPA testing compliance
- Ability to obtain knowledge of local codes, regulations, and franchise agreements
