Overview

As corporate counsel, you will support Axon's global sales teams by structuring, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts. You'll lead contract processes, set risk standards, and mentor Contracts Managers while collaborating with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Product, and IT. You will help scale the legal function with templates, playbooks, and a contract lifecycle management system. This role sits at the heart of a fast-growing, mission-driven company shaping public safety technology. Responsibilities
  • Structure, review, and negotiate contracts for goods, services, and SaaS with global sales teams
  • Provide risk analyses and options to business partners on contract negotiations
  • Supervise and review Contracts Managers' work
  • Set risk levels and manage knowledge base, playbooks, and approvals
  • Lead and evolve contracting processes to enable scale (templates, risk analyses, policies, procedures)
  • Support contract lifecycle management implementation and tooling
  • Provide additional legal advice on regulatory compliance and other legal requirements
  • Collaborate with attorneys, contracts managers, and admin staff to mentor and grow the team
  • Travel up to 15% as needed
Key requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience negotiating and managing complex commercial contracts (in-house preferred)
  • Proven skill in drafting and negotiating high-volume SaaS, hardware, and services contracts
  • Knowledge of procurement laws and processes in EMEA (UK and EU)
  • Located on the east coast
  • Experience negotiating framework agreements
  • Ability to act with urgency and train/mentor others
  • Experience supporting large, dynamic organizations
  • Experience designing, implementing, and administering contract lifecycle processes
  • Deep understanding of software tools related to contracts (preferably Generative AI, Salesforce, CLMs, Microsoft Office)
