Overview

In this role you lead the Mechanical Group within the BEI division, delivering mechanical, plumbing and fire protection design services while actively growing the client base. You'll manage resources, oversee project quality and budgets, and collaborate across the firm to offer cross-disciplinary services. You will engage with clients, prepare proposals, and guide junior staff to deliver high-quality outcomes. This is a client-facing leadership role with a focus on operational excellence and business development in building systems and energy infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and design services for MEP projects as part of a multi-discipline team to produce drawings and specifications for institutional, commercial and industrial facilities
  • Develop new clients and deliver high-quality service through operational excellence
  • Prepare proposals and presentations for clients
  • Allocate resources, balance manpower, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery
  • Interact with clients, conduct preliminary evaluations, prepare reports and permit submittals
  • Recruit and develop regional team members including managers, engineers, staff, and admin
  • Function as Project Manager when required
  • Collaborate across McKim & Creed to sell and deliver company-wide services
Key requirements
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering with PE registration or ability to quickly acquire FL PE via reciprocity
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical design and HVAC system analysis
  • Proven leadership and business development capabilities to grow the business and market share
  • Team player with strong communication and the ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record
