Overview As Lead Electrical Project Manager, you will direct electrical work on large-scale data center and mission-critical projects to align with project objectives and budgets. You will act as the primary electrical liaison among clients, contractors, EPCs, and internal teams, ensuring high-quality installation and effective commissioning. You'll oversee electrical infrastructure-from switchyards and distribution to backup power-while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities- Manage all electrical activities across the project lifecycle (pre-construction to warranty)
- Serve as the primary electrical point of contact between client, GC/EPC, AECOM staff and stakeholders
- Oversee installation of electrical infrastructure (switchyards, switchgear, transformers, UPS, BESS, ATS, generators, busways, PDU, raceways, cables, lighting)
- Monitor contractor performance and conduct field inspections for quality and conformance
- Coordinate milestones with mechanical, civil, architectural, and commissioning teams
- Provide technical direction and ensure design, budget, schedule and quality alignment
- Coordinate commissioning activities and energization of building systems
- Process field documentation (RFIs, submittals) and support construction activities with inspectors
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with Project Controls for cost and schedule reviews
- Review and comment on pay applications; liaise with OFCI for off-site equipment condition and insurance documents
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of relevant construction project experience (15+ preferred)
- PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification
- 5+ years managing large-scale electrical, industrial, or data center projects
- Knowledge of electrical systems, distribution, cooling infrastructure, and critical facility operations
- Understanding of construction means/methods, project delivery, and contract administration
- Experience with commissioning and operational readiness planning
- Experience managing electrical scopes > $100M
- Familiarity with cloud-based PMIS and project controls platforms
