Overview

As Electrical CAD/BIM Specialist III, you support AECOM's Power Delivery team on high- and medium-voltage projects for utilities, municipal, commercial, and industrial clients. You'll develop and manage electrical CAD/BIM designs, create 3D models, and produce construction drawings while upholding standards and coordinating with project staff. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to deliver reliable, scalable energy infrastructure. This role offers remote or office work with opportunities to impact substation design and energy master planning.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain electrical design sets by integrating redlines and instructions into CAD drawings and 3D models
  • Manage larger portions of a project, analyzing issues and coordinating with engineering staff
  • Develop 3D models for electrical systems including substations, conduit routing, and cable trays
  • Produce construction drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, diagrams) using AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit
  • Revise drawings based on feedback, RFIs, change orders, and site markups
  • Ensure drawings comply with drafting/BIM standards, client requirements, codes, and best practices (NEC, IEEE)
  • Maintain version control and file management for CAD/3D models throughout the project
  • Provide training and technical support on BIM system, project standards, and content
  • Support quality control through self-checks and peer reviews for accuracy and constructability
Key requirements
  • BA/BS in Engineering or related field with 4 years of experience or equivalent
  • Experience in high voltage electrical CAD/BIM design
  • Proficiency in Revit 3D modeling for Substation Design
  • Experience with BIM execution plans or model matrix; knowledge of Omni Class and WBS
  • Familiarity with NEC and other relevant codes; Autodesk 2D; Navisworks/Revizto experience is a plus
  • Experience with ProjectWise and ACC/Forma (Autodesk Construction Cloud); ability to work in collaborative model environments
  • Exposure to substation facilities including equipment layouts and designs
