Overview In this role you will support customer-facing commercial transactions for Workday's enterprise software. You will draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of agreements, collaborating with Sales, Finance, Product, Security, Privacy, and other Legal teams. You'll help scale contract processes, provide practical legal guidance, and navigate privacy, AI, and security considerations. Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate customer-facing commercial agreements (SaaS, MSAs, order forms, data protection agreements, AI addenda, SLAs)
- Review proposed contract modifications with Sales and internal stakeholders to secure approvals
- Provide practical legal guidance on contract positions, non-standard terms, policies, and queries
- Participate in calls with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues
- Advise on privacy, data protection, AI, security, and compliance in transactions
- Manage a high-volume contracting queue and prioritize by risk and business impact
- Improve templates, playbooks, and workflow processes to increase efficiency and scalability
- Collaborate with Sales, Deals Operations, Finance, Product, Security, Privacy, and Legal teams; execute projects and share knowledge
Key requirements- Juris Doctor degree and bar license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in-house, corporate, or law firm
- Direct experience with SaaS, technology, or customer-facing agreements
- Experience with privacy, data protection, or AI-related contracting issues
- Strong commercial contracting experience (MSAs, data protection agreements, AI addenda, SLAs)
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to legal and non-legal audiences
- Strong business judgment and risk assessment skills
- Experience with contract lifecycle management systems (Salesforce, Apttus, Conga) and e-sign tools (Adobe Sign, DocuSign)
- Proficiency in MS Office; independent, proactive, adaptable
- Experience supporting enterprise software or SaaS transactions preferred
