Overview In this role, you will lead the research administration and financial management for a complex portfolio, guiding staff and faculty on policy and compliance. You'll coordinate grant proposals, reporting, and fund management while partnering with investigators on sponsored research and intellectual property. You will oversee recruitment, operations, and lab support, mentoring staff and driving strategic planning across research business operations. Compensation / Benefits Responsibilities- Lead research administration and financial management for a complex portfolio (budgets, forecasting, fund management, reporting)
- Coordinate development and submission of complex grant proposals with sponsor and institutional compliance
- Collaborate with investigators on research administration activities (IP, clinical trials, sponsored research operations)
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, payroll approvals, and workforce management for faculty and staff
- Manage departmental operations (purchasing, facilities, travel, equipment maintenance, safety, lab support)
- Supervise and mentor Research Operations Analysts and administrative staff
- Advise departmental administrators on research administration, financial, and operational matters
- Support strategic planning initiatives and participate in institutional committees and projects
Key requirements- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4 years of business management experience in academic research or healthcare
- Demonstrated personnel management, extramural fund management, and financial management experience
- Master's degree in business administration or healthcare administration with 6+ years of related experience (preferred)
