Overview In this role you advise high-net-worth individuals and families on estate and tax planning, focusing on wealth transfer and fiduciary administration. You will collaborate with tax and other practice groups to deliver comprehensive client service in a top-tier firm with a collaborative culture. You'll draft and refine estate planning documents and mentor junior team members. This is an opportunity to shape sophisticated private client solutions within a reputable firm.
Responsibilities- Advise on estate planning strategies (wills, revocable/irrevocable trusts, charitable giving)
- Design tax-efficient structures for individuals, families, and closely held businesses
- Draft, review, and negotiate estate planning and related documents
- Counsel trustees, executors, and beneficiaries on fiduciary duties and probate matters
- Conduct legal research on estate, gift, GST, and income tax issues
- Collaborate with tax, corporate, real estate, and litigation teams on multi-disciplinary matters
- Manage client relationships, including intake, updates, and billing oversight
- Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals, delegating tasks and reviewing work
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction
- Typically 5+ years of experience advising high-net-worth individuals or families
- Expertise in tax planning, estate planning, trusts, and fiduciary administration
- Strong drafting skills for wills, trust agreements, and related documents
- Solid understanding of federal and state gift, estate, GST, and income tax rules
- Experience collaborating with CPAs or holding dual degree/credential is a plus
- Excellent client service, communication, and interpersonal skills
