Overview

In this role you will lead the tax function for O&G and affiliated entities, overseeing compliance, reporting, and planning across federal, state, and local taxes. You will work with external advisors and internal leaders to manage tax risk and identify opportunities to optimize tax position amid acquisitions and restructurings. You will support budgeting and cash flow by maintaining accurate tax records and schedules. This is a hands-on leadership role in a respected Northeast constructor with broad entity scope.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee federal, state, and local income tax compliance and reporting for multiple entities (including S corporations, partnerships, trusts)
  • Coordinate preparation and review of annual tax returns and quarterly estimated payments
  • Manage tax projections and supporting schedules related to basis, distributions, and pass-through allocations
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors, CPA firms, and legal counsel on tax matters
  • Monitor tax law changes and communicate impacts to leadership; identify planning opportunities
  • Support tax aspects of acquisitions, restructurings, and other transactions
  • Oversee sales and use tax and other indirect/specialty tax compliance
  • Serve as primary contact for tax audits and inquiries
  • Maintain tax records, schedules, documentation, and assist with cash flow planning and budgeting
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or private industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Advanced Excel and tax software proficiency
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and professional judgement
  • CPA and/or Masters in Taxation preferred
