Overview

In this role you serve as the on-site HR partner for 300 hourly teammates and frontline leaders, ensuring fair, compliant application of policies and the CBA while driving a positive employee experience. You will collaborate with HR Operations and People Partner teams to support employee relations, performance management, onboarding, engagement, and change initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This is a hands-on role shaping labor relations and people processes in a union environment, with opportunities to lead local HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities
  • First point of contact for employee relations questions, concerns, and grievances
  • Fair and consistent administration of the CBA in a union environment; support negotiations and implementation
  • Conduct employee relations investigations including interviews, documentation, and counseling
  • Coach hourly employees and front line leaders on performance, conduct, attendance, and policy matters
  • Support performance management processes and compliant feedback and corrective actions
  • Act as SME for HR policies, processes, and systems; escalate and resolve HR issues
  • Administer medical accommodations per policy and regulations; participate in affirmative action activities
  • Monitor employee engagement and climate indicators; partner with leaders on improvements
  • Coordinate onboarding with safety, operations, payroll, and benefits; support end-to-end process
  • Lead or participate in local HR projects and initiatives
Key requirements
  • 5+ years of HR experience in manufacturing or factory environment; union experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • Experience conducting employee relations investigations and handling grievances
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations practices
  • Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
