Overview In this Associate General Counsel role at Piper Sandler, you provide legal advice to the investment banking and capital markets teams on corporate, securities, and M&A matters. You collaborate with firm attorneys, manage outside counsel and expenses, and oversee regulatory monitoring and special projects. You'll help shape engagement letters, NDAs, and transaction documents, while supporting committees and cross-functional partners. Responsibilities- Provide legal support to investment banking and capital markets teams
- Draft/review/negotiate engagement letters, NDAs, and transaction documents
- Participate in firm committees (commitment, M&A, opinion)
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes affecting the business
- Manage outside counsel and legal expenses
- Assist with third-party matters and ancillary litigation matters
Key requirements- Experience on securities and M&A transactions
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team under limited supervision
- Willingness to work overtime as workload requires
- Two to four years of experience (preferred)
- Licensed to practice law in Minnesota
