Quality & Reliability Engineering Manager

Overview

In this role you will drive continuous improvement of field reliability, warranty reduction, and product quality. You will serve as the technical interface between field data, customer feedback, and engineering, leading cross-functional teams to root-cause failures and implement corrective actions. You will integrate risk assessment into new product design to prevent repeat failures and support cost reduction through data-driven decision making. You will work with internal teams and external partners to sustain high reliability and enable strategic quality initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor field warranty data, quality indicators, and claim trends to flag emerging issues
  • Mobilize cross-functional teams to perform containment and corrective actions for high-risk field problems
  • Prepare monthly management review materials with warranty rate charts, trend metrics, and dashboards
  • Translate diagnostics, customer feedback, and teardown findings into actionable engineering data
  • Coordinate resolution strategies with technical services, quality, sales, and product engineering
  • Lead customer-facing technical quality reviews to monitor early indicators and support OEM relationships
  • Incorporate warranty requirements into new product development to prevent design failures
  • Analyze warranty trends related to supplier quality to support cost recovery
  • Analyze field returns to identify failure modes and guide next steps for projects
  • Participate in annual strategic planning, warranty forecasting, and long-term cost reduction
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field (or equivalent)
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering, quality, or reliability experience
  • Proven experience managing technical processes, warranty projects, or cross-functional failure analysis teams
  • Strong project management with ability to lead without direct authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to translate diagnostics into actionable tasks
  • Strong analytical judgment for resource allocation and prioritization
  • Solid computer skills including BI software, spreadsheets, and data analytics tools
  • Fluent in English; travel up to 10%
