Accounts Payable Manager

Overview

You will lead the Accounts Payable team to drive efficient invoice processing, timely payments, and strong controls. In this role, you partner with Procurement, Accounting, Operations, and FP&A to optimize end-to-end AP processes and support a scalable, automated AP function. You'll develop the team, improve workflows, and ensure compliance. Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of AP professionals through goal setting, coaching, performance management, and ongoing development
  • Oversee daily AP operations including invoice processing, approvals, escalations, queue management, payments, and reporting
  • Monitor team performance with KPIs and SLAs to balance workloads and drive accountability
  • Manage invoice receipt, compliance validation, workflow execution, and exception resolution for scalable processing
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, workflow enhancements, and efficiency initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and SOX standards including segregation of duties and process documentation
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Accounting, Operations, FP&A, and other stakeholders to improve upstream/downstream processes, accrual accuracy, and reporting
Key requirements
  • 5+ years in Accounts Payable or Shared Services
  • 2+ years of experience leading teams
  • Experience in high-volume, service-oriented AP operations
  • End-to-end AP experience (invoices, supplier maintenance, payments, issue resolution)
  • Experience with ERP platforms and AP workflow or automation technologies
  • Experience applying internal controls, SOX compliance, audit requirements, and standard AP control practices
  • Ability to use metrics and reporting for decisions, workload management, and team performance
