Overview In this contract role based in La Jolla, you will support the full legal billing cycle by preparing prebills, processing charges, and ensuring timely invoice submission. You will work closely with the Billing Manager and legal staff to handle exceptions and project-driven billing efforts. You will resolve submission issues and ensure client guidelines are consistently applied, contributing to accurate, timely client billing at scale. Responsibilities- Prepare, revise, and finalize prebills based on attorney direction and allocate charges among clients
- Process billable time and related charges for attorneys and paralegals per client instructions and firm standards
- Transmit invoices via electronic billing platforms and resolve submission rejections or technical issues
- Manage a high-volume billing cycle ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Verify invoice details and supporting records before release
- Research billing discrepancies, respond to inquiries, and provide practical solutions
- Apply client guidelines on rates, schedules, documentation, and cost controls
- Partner with Billing Manager, billing team, and legal staff to address exceptions and prioritize billing-related projects
- Use billing software effectively and troubleshoot system issues affecting invoicing
