Overview In this role you manage complex civil defense matters from start to trial readiness, with increasing independence. You draft and argue substantive motions, including summary judgment, in state and federal courts. You conduct and defend depositions, and shape discovery strategy to fit case risk. You work closely with trial partners and clients, shaping strategies and settlement recommendations. This position offers hands-on courtroom experience within a premier multi-office defense firm and room to grow through mentorship and structured training.

Responsibilities- Own caseloads from inception through trial preparation with increasing independence
- Draft and argue motions, including summary judgment
- Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, and experts
- Lead written discovery strategy with tailored requests, responses, and objections
- Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and arbitrations with partner oversight
- Serve as strategic contact for corporate clients and insurance adjusters
- Collaborate with senior trial partners on jury trial preparation
Key requirements- Active Florida Bar membership in good standing
- Three+ years of civil litigation experience with defense exposure
- Proven legal writing ability: briefs, motions, memoranda
- Hands-on deposition experience (taking or defending)
