Overview In this role you support the development and preclinical evaluation of biologic therapeutics. You will contribute to molecular biology and protein biochemistry work while managing mouse colonies and associated data. You partner with graduate students, postdocs, and technicians under a Principal Investigator to execute experiments and ensure rigorous records. Your work helps advance translational research in a collaborative academic setting. This position offers hands-on experience across molecular biology, protein science, and animal research in a fast-paced lab.
Responsibilities- Maintain mouse colonies: breeding, weaning, genotyping, record-keeping, and cohort preparation
- Conduct animal therapeutic studies: handling, dosing, health monitoring, tissue collection
- Perform molecular biology techniques: PCR, DNA/plasmid prep, cloning, sequence verification
- Carry out protein biochemistry: recombinant expression, purification, sample prep, SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting
- Support laboratory operations: prepare reagents, manage inventories, organize data/records
- Collaborate with lab members to troubleshoot and execute experiments
- Maintain detailed experimental and animal care records in compliance with safety and animal-use requirements
Key requirements- Bachelor in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- Previous lab research experience from undergrad, internships, or equivalent training
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous record-keeping
- Willingness to work with mice and complete required safety training
