Senior Finance Manager, Collections Manager

Overview

In this role you will safeguard Microsoft's AR investments and provide decision support to accelerate cash flow. You will act as a trusted advisor to the business, shaping collections strategy and partner with cross-functional teams to enable profitable growth. You'll lead collections and cash applications for your portfolio, leveraging AI to improve performance and resolve escalations. This is an impact role that combines financial analysis, process improvement, and stakeholder-ready insights in a collaborative, customer-obsessed culture.

Responsibilities
  • Independently manage collections and cash applications for assigned portfolio and guide the team toward targets
  • Leverage AI to enhance collections portfolio performance and inform prudent risk decisions
  • Address customer payment issues and coordinate with the Business Engagement team for support
  • Lead initiatives and AI projects to scale processes for year-over-year growth
  • Manage vendor/supplier relations globally and ensure SLA adherence and strong customer experience
  • Collaborate with policy owners to drive process improvements and regulatory compliance
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives and address escalations from customers and stakeholders
  • Partner with Treasury and cross-Microsoft teams on AR reporting, dispute resolution, and decision support
  • Coordinate with the BPO to meet performance metrics and ensure compliant delivery
  • Support Audit, Tax, and SOX-related documentation requests and compliance items
Key requirements
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field with 2+ years in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance; OR Bachelor's Degree in same fields with 4+ years of experience; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, including interaction with Senior Management
  • Ability to support audit and compliance tasks (SOX) and build control-aware processes
  • Cross-group collaboration

  • Adept usage of AI toolsets (CoPilot, CoWork)
