Overview In this Director role, you will lead pricing strategy for 5-6 specialty Programs within a global specialty P&C insurer. You'll collaborate with Underwriting, Program Managers, Analytics and senior leadership to shape portfolio decisions and pricing outcomes. You'll drive profitability analyses, rate adequacy, and segmentation to guide growth or adjustments across the portfolio. Responsibilities- Own pricing and profitability analysis for a portfolio of specialty Programs
- Monitor rate adequacy, rate changes, underwriting mix and segmentation
- Advise on growth, repricing, or pull-back based on portfolio performance
- Evaluate new specialty Programs and external partnerships from actuarial and commercial perspectives
- Develop pricing studies, segmentation analyses and monitoring tools
- Improve pricing methodologies using Python, SQL and VBA
- Partner with Underwriting, Program Managers and Predictive Modeling teams
- Present actuarial findings and recommendations to senior leadership
- Translate complex actuarial analysis into clear commercial guidance
Key requirements- 6+ years of P&C actuarial experience
- ACAS or FCAS
- Strong pricing and ratemaking experience
- Experience in Commercial or Specialty P&C
- Strong analytical and technical capabilities (Python, SQL and/or VBA)
- Experience with profitability analysis, segmentation and portfolio monitoring
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial mindset with the ability to influence underwriting and business decisions
