Overview In this role you will lead a team responsible for financial record-keeping, reporting and controls supporting investment accounting. You will partner with asset management, portfolio management and acquisitions teams to ensure accurate GAAP work papers and timely closing. You will drive process improvements, system upgrades and new product implementations while maintaining strong control environments. Responsibilities- Ensure timely and accurate US GAAP work papers and schedules for investment accounting audits
- Coordinate day-to-day general accounting activities within the department
- Oversee reconciliation of balance sheet, income statement, bank accounts, etc.
- Review financial statements and reports for internal and external audiences
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to align practices with organizational goals
- Lead strategic initiatives including system upgrades, process improvements, and new product implementations
- Maintain investment accounting policies, procedures and control processes
- Monitor team performance and drive engagement, development and accountability
Key requirements- 5+ years of controls, audit, accounting, or finance experience
- 7+ years preferred
- Experience in financial services; familiarity with loan accounting standards
- Experience with Oracle and/or NetSuite
- Experience applying data analytics tools (Alteryx, Python, Power BI, Tableau) to accounting data
- Strong accounting knowledge including GAAP and audit collaboration
