Overview As an Associate Attorney, you will handle family law, probate, and estate planning matters from intake to resolution, drafting key documents and advising clients. You will appear in court, mediation, and administrative settings, collaborating with partners and staff to drive outcomes. Responsibilities- Manage a diverse caseload in family law, probate, and estate planning from intake to resolution
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, settlement agreements, guardianship documents, and other instruments
- Provide legal counsel on divorce, custody, support, property division, probate administration, and estate planning options
- Prepare for and appear at court hearings, mediations, depositions, and administrative proceedings; represent clients in negotiations
- Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, case law, and regulations to develop effective strategies
- Coordinate with partners, paralegals, and support staff to manage deadlines, discovery, and case logistics
- Communicate with clients to explain options, status, and next steps; maintain files and documentation
- Assist in client development activities and firm growth initiatives
- Manage time to meet billable hour targets and productivity goals while maintaining quality
Key requirements- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active admission to the state bar in good standing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in law with demonstrated experience in family law, probate, and estate planning
- Proven skills in legal drafting, case preparation, client counseling, and advocacy
- Strong legal research and analytical abilities; familiarity with statutes, case law, and court procedures
- Excellent oral and written communication, client-service orientation, and interpersonal strengths
- Ability to manage multiple matters, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with case management software and e-filing systems
