Overview As a Bankruptcy Litigation Associate, you support a premier AmLaw 100 firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights group in Seattle. You will work on complex restructurings and insolvency matters for lenders, creditors, landlords, and debtors, spanning both litigation and transactional work. You'll handle high-stakes disputes, workouts, and asset restructurings, gaining broad exposure and meaningful client contact. This role combines rigorous legal work with opportunities for professional development within a collaborative team. You will help shape strategic outcomes in financially distressed situations.

Responsibilities- Represent lenders, creditors, landlords, debtors, and stakeholders in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters
- Handle loan workout negotiations, restructuring transactions, and distressed asset matters
- Manage creditors' rights litigation, including loan enforcement actions, receiverships, and foreclosures
- Draft and negotiate workout agreements, restructuring documents, pleadings, motions, and related filings
- Advise clients on insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, and risk management strategies
- Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 11, 15, and 9 proceedings
- Provide strategic guidance to creditors and debtors in complex insolvency cases
- Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts, in and out of court
- Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and manage motion practice in high-stakes litigation
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
Key requirements- JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record
- Active Bar Admission in Washington (or eligible to waive into Washington); Oregon/California admission is a plus
- 4-8 years of experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, or related insolvency matters
- Experience handling loan workouts, enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures
- Bankruptcy & restructuring expertise including Chapter 11, 15, and 9 (municipal) cases
- Litigation proficiency in drafting, discovery, motion practice, and court appearances
- Transactional background with distressed asset acquisitions and out-of-court restructurings a plus
- Excellent writing, research, interpersonal skills; attention to detail; sound judgment
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters with strong client service
