Pay Rate: $20/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to provide professional reception and clerical support while assisting patients with check-in, check-out, scheduling, billing, referrals, and general office needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Patient-facing experience and medical office experience.

  • Experience with patient check-in and check-out processes.

  • Ability to travel to various locations within 30 minutes of home and float between locations.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, accountability, and patient-service skills.

  • English proficiency: Read, Write, Speak.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience preferred.

  • Prior receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office.

  • Epic experience.

  • CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide reception and clerical support for patients and visitors, including billing, collections, referrals, appointments, and patient contact.

  • Answer and direct telephone calls courteously and appropriately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

  • Greet patients and visitors promptly and assist with the sign-in process.

  • Manage patient check-in, including verifying demographic and insurance information, collecting copayments and balances, obtaining referrals, and ensuring required paperwork is completed.

  • Manage patient check-out, including reviewing charge slips, posting charges and payments, collecting balances, and scheduling future appointments.

  • Verify insurance eligibility and accurately enter patient information into the billing/computer system.

  • Support billing and financial responsibilities, including maintaining reimbursement and billing procedures, preparing deposits and credit card batches, and completing daily cash receipts.

  • Maintain accurate filing and medical record systems, including assembling new patient folders and retrieving and returning records.

  • Monitor office supplies and equipment and initiate orders when needed.

  • Serve as a pre-loader for the EMR system.

  • Promote patient satisfaction through friendly, professional, and helpful interactions.

  • Adapt work schedules and provide cross-coverage as needed to maintain adequate practice coverage.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
