Overview

In this role you will support a nationally recognized real estate practice within a Southeastern law firm. You will work on sophisticated commercial transactions across the United States, collaborating with a team of attorneys representing developers, investors, lenders, and business owners. You will handle complex acquisitions, development, financing, leasing, and dispositions across various asset classes. Responsibilities
  • Represent developers, investors, property owners, landlords, tenants, lenders, and borrowers in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, easements, declarations, leases, financing documents, and related transaction documents
  • Manage acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and real estate financing transactions from inception through closing
  • Conduct comprehensive real estate due diligence, including title and survey reviews
  • Structure and negotiate complex deal terms while identifying and mitigating transaction risk
  • Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, consultants, and opposing counsel throughout transactions
  • Advise clients on land use, zoning, development, and regulatory considerations impacting projects
  • Collaborate with attorneys across construction, environmental, tax, corporate, finance, and economic development practices to support client objectives
Key requirements
  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction, in good standing
  • 3+ years of substantive commercial real estate experience in a sophisticated law firm setting
  • Experience representing clients in commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, financing transactions, and leasing matters
  • Significant drafting and negotiating experience for purchase and sale agreements
  • Experience drafting and negotiating easement agreements and restrictive covenants
  • Experience negotiating and reviewing loan documents on behalf of borrowers
  • Familiarity with title, survey, due diligence, and closing processes
  • Experience managing multiple transactions simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience in a sophisticated law firm real estate practice preferred
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management
