Overview As Strategy Director, you will shape the overall direction of National Grid's Group Strategy and provide strategic support to business units and leadership. You will lead major, cross-cutting strategy programs that inform executive decisions and drive the company's energy transition and growth agenda. You will collaborate with senior leaders across units to forecast market developments, solve high-priority issues, and create compelling narratives for boards. Responsibilities- Lead large, high-profile strategy projects and programs from scoping to resource management
- Build and manage relationships with leadership teams across business units and corporate functions, providing strategic foresight
- Drive clarity on strategically important issues through meetings and workshops tailored to the audience
- Coach and develop project teams, direct reports, and contribute to overall team leadership
Key requirements- Experience in energy sector or similar regulated markets (in-house or strategy consultancy advantageous)
- Track record of delivering high-priority strategy projects and leading teams to solve strategic challenges
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complexity into clear narratives for executive stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead meetings and build trusted relationships at senior levels
