Overview

In this role, you join a cutting-edge clinical lab to deliver high-quality molecular data with fast turnaround. You will perform advanced molecular procedures, ensuring adherence to established protocols and regulatory standards. You'll troubleshoot deviations, contribute to continuous improvement, and support data entry in the LIMS to enable real-time clinical insights. This position supports the mission to accelerate precision medicine in cancer care, leveraging cutting-edge techniques to impact patient outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment to drive reliable, life-saving results.

Responsibilities
  • Perform molecular test procedures with rapid turnaround times
  • Execute molecular techniques (qPCR, NGS, nucleic acid extraction, DNA/RNA quantification, genotyping)
  • Conduct quality control, calibration, maintenance, and proficiency testing per procedures
  • Sterilize equipment and workspaces as assigned
  • Enter clinical patient data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Maintain competency to perform molecular biology protocols per CAP/CLIA/NYSDOH
  • Identify deviations from SOPs and apply standard fixes
  • Troubleshoot and implement solutions under direction and authorization
  • Work in a CLIA/CAP high-complexity laboratory environment (desirable)
Key requirements
  • MS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science with 0-6 years of molecular biology experience OR
  • BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science with 0-6 years of molecular biology experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to collaborate to plan and run scientific programs
  • Self-driven with strong interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to impact cancer outcomes
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing (desirable)
  • LIMS and laboratory systems knowledge (desirable)
  • Robotics and automated liquid handling experience (desirable)
