Overview In this Technologist role, you will verify specimen acceptability and perform routine to complex testing per SOPs, ensuring accurate results that support patient care. You'll monitor and troubleshoot instruments, make technical testing decisions, and contribute to method validation with reagents and controls. You'll perform preventive maintenance, QC, and ensure a safe, efficient lab workflow in a high-volume environment. Responsibilities- Determine specimen acceptability for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures per SOPs
- Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Demonstrate ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
- Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care
- Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
- Assist with processing of specimens when needed
- Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate PPE
Key requirements- Molecular MT FL License
- Bachelor in Chemical or Biological Science
- 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- Understanding of laboratory operations and policies and procedures
- Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems
