Overview As Accounting Manager/Supervisor, you will lead core accounting operations and deliver timely, reliable financial insights. Based in Salem, NH, you'll own close, GL integrity, and cash management across multiple entities while supporting strong controls and reporting. You'll partner with operations to improve financial performance and manage project accounting, cost tracking, and revenue recognition. This role offers meaningful impact through accurate reporting and proactive process improvements.
Responsibilities- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close to deliver complete, reliable results on schedule.
- Manage the general ledger, reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting docs for key accounts.
- Investigate balance sheet variances and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Oversee accounting across multiple entities, including intercompany balancing and consolidation adjustments.
- Oversee fixed asset records, depreciation, retirements, and asset verification processes.
- Lead project and job cost accounting, tracking budgets, spending, forecasts, and contract profitability.
- Prepare work-in-progress reporting and apply percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
- Collaborate with project and operations teams to evaluate billing status, contract changes, margins, and financial risks.
- Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, cash application, and controls.
- Support cash forecasting, banking activity, audits, tax compliance, and ongoing internal control improvements.
Key requirements- Hands-on accounting experience with strong technical knowledge.
- Experience leading close processes (monthly/quarterly/annual) and financial reporting.
- Experience in multi-entity environments with intercompany reconciliations and consolidation adjustments.
- Project and job cost accounting expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
- Knowledge of revenue recognition concepts, including percentage-of-completion.
- Proficiency in cash flow management, AP/AR, and internal controls.
